What can i do now?

Hi
My husband came to Doha first and he was sharing with his friend and when i got my visa and about to come here, he was under work pressure and cant find a proper house and blindly accepted a contract for 1 year and rent a house. But within 1 month we got our office accomadation itself. Then only the problem started the old owner refused to cancel the lease and we are now paying rent at both the places. The problem is we cant even place advertisement for the old house as it will mean like subleasing which is against the lease agreement and the owner is also not placing the advertisement as he wont get this much rent as the real estates are down. But simply says if i find new person i ll return back ur cheques. My DH dont want to speak about this to any one as he is totally tensed.

What can i do now for me paying 5000R is not digestable at all. Pl guide me with some suggestion.

hi chukku,
Yesterday only Hema told me about this situation........i don't know much abt lease agreement but if it is ok then post a ad in Qatarliving.com or mouth publicity........(u can tell to your freinds,grocery shops persons).Give your contact no. and not owners,you show them house and if they like and ready to take it then take them to owner n make new contract on his name and take your cheque back.See in agreement what clauses are there.........Yesterday only i read in Qatarliving.com that we can't cancel agreement till 6 months from the day house rented and have to give notice before vaccating(may be 1-2 months).........so check that.
Actually in last April when i went back for my delivery we vaccated the house by giving one month notice and also house was taken by one of my DH's colleague..........but when that person has to vaccate the owner started asking him to bring some another tenant and vaccate.........
