Admissions in indian schools in qatar

Am a tamilian from Mumbai.I might shift to qatar around september.what are the chances of admission to schools.also are there any vacancies for teachers.Is accomodation cheap.Can we manage without a car.Please suggest some good residential areas near BPS or DPs.Will be grateful friends.thanks

Welcome to Qatar.

In Doha Schools new accademic year starts in March-April, but they allow admission after that also. It is summer vaccation for schools (end of first term) here in August - September (this year almost all the schools re-open around 27th Sept), so plan your coming accordingly.

There are vaccancies for teachers, especially if you have good teaching expereince, you will surely get a post here.

Regarding accomodation, rents were sky-rocketing before, but now it seems to be coming down, a decent two-bedroom flat may cost around 7000-7500 Qatari Riyal.

Transportation is a real problem in Doha if you dont have your own car , taxi is very expensive.

Both BPS and DPS areas are residential areas.

Thank you so much Triza for the valuable info.How is the standard of education in these schools .Have also found a school called MES.Kindly guide me regarding that too.Are there parks for children in Qatar.Any indian clubs.Basically,am eager to know how would life in Qatar be.Thanks once again
