Ugadi/gudi padwa celebrations

Hi All,

Hw did u ppl celebrate Ugadi/Gudi Padwa (Telugu, Kannadigas, Maharashtrian's New year)...I hope we can share the celebration in this thread....

As I am Telugu, UGADI was celebrated. ...I got up early on the day of Ugadi (7.00 am Big LaughBeing Friday this is early)..made UGadi Pachadi (somehow manged to get Neem Flowers), Aval Payasam,Vada, Puran Poli, etc.. prepared. We have invited some of our friends to home...after they came, made pooja...had lunch around with all of them..evening went to Vaishali Samant's programme...awesome...

Greetings to you for Ugadi.

Nice to share your celebrations on Ugadi. We generally (tamilian) celebrate on april 14. So will share mine after 14th.

By the way, have u visited this flower exhibition.. share your views.

Goood!!!though we are telugu ppl, we celebrate even Tamil New Year as we follow that calendar only

...born and brought up in tamilnadu only..

No yaar I dint go to the flower exhibition but i saw the pics...Did u visit the exhibition???

Good to know that you celebrated Ugadi!!
We are also andhraites...
Unfortunately we couldnt really celebrate like every other yr!!
we were at the Udit Narayan show the previous night..so cudnt wake up early!!..and then hit the road for the neem flower and cudnt find it anywhere:(

thats abt our ugadi!!

It was nice to see ur post on ugadi celebrations!! keeps up the festival spirit:)

Anybody celebrating this festival or any other festival also .. do share in this thread..

I am planning to do panagam, neermoore as prasadam.

As of now, only pooja... outing or get-together not decided. lets see.

Vaishnave, I didnt go to the flower exhibition... heard that heavy crowd and veg. carving was really wonderful.

HAPPY SRI RAMANAVAMI TO U TOOO!!!

Even I made Panakam and Neer Moor...Made Pooja!!! Invited two of our family friends for lunch....No outing becos of the rain!!!!!Just went out for grocery shopping....

Yeah even i saw the flower exhibition and carving in the newspaper...really goood :)
