Hi, dear
The IT sector of Qatar is very pathetic.Drowning What people understand by IT means a technician who can visit their place and fix their systems. The mass here do not have any idea about development/design/support.
You will find some Indian and Filipino men doing the IT support which means only fixing the systems. IT jobs don't earn a good remuneration as well.
Now, you might be thinking that I am saying all negative things about Qatar. But thats the fact. All my friends who are MCA's are either sitting at home or doing some Admin/HR related jobs. To top with it, the recruitment agencies, or the companies themselves, do not look into the e-mails that you send or the applications that are posted online.
The only thing that works here is "networking and public relation". So, keep on networking with resourceful people and start circulating your resume. Try keeping an eye in www.qatarliving.com as well. Some oppurtunities come up there too but you have to be highly lucky to get a job through that.
Most of the banks and QP, Qatar Airways, gas companies require IT professionals. But they rarely accept female employees for the same. But if you have someone who has a strong influence , he can help you get through!!!!
I have commented these out of my personal experience. I struggled for almost a year to get through to an IT company. But still, being a Manager in a fortune 500 company in B'lore and being worked in the US, its highly difficult for me to cope up with the professionalism/work culture here. Women are not accepted as managers here. The only position suitable for women here is HR and Admin jobs. Thats the stark truth of this country.
You can also try in GBM(partner of IBM) and GE, but again through strong influence or better go an approach their HR by yourself. All the best!!! |

Hey cool,I also worked in Bangalore.I was working as a ProjectManager in TCS.How about u?
Yeah,I agree with u that we do not get jobs over here w/o influence. But rarely people do get jobs over here. That too in very good companies like QP,QG,RG and so on but again thru influence.Have u switched ur field now?Which field r u in now?Are u happy with that field? Quote:

Vinutha I have already tried Mannai. They had called me up for a Project Managers post.Since I did not have a Driving License they were very apprehensive and they told me that they will get back or they will try to pass on to a stationery PM role. Quote:

Presently I am working as a Trainer in an IT company. We mostly do the service on Cisco, Dell, Microsoft and 3Com. But this company isn't doing that great in the market to be honest. Recently, that is 2 days ago, I got a call from Meeza, in Qatar Foundation. The position is for an Executive Admin for VP(IT Sales and Marketing). This is an IT company (you can check their website, by googling Meeza Qatar Foundation). However, I doubt if there is any developmental openings available so far. I am not much interested for this as I am moving to Dubai shortly.
If you want, you can try your luck there. But, its a fairly new company in conjunction with Vodafone. They are in the budding process, so go to them and speak with their HR directly.
Also try your luck in Bayt.com and gulftalent.com. Keep sending tonnes of application. I am sure some will click.

Reason: Revathy, don't post your email on the site. It's not recommended. So removing it, as Bhuvnidhi responded to your email id.
