Can husband work if he is under Wife's sponsorship?

Hi Friends,
I need one clarification.
My hubby is planning to resign .I want to change my sponsorship from Family-visa of his to my company sponsor-ship. So he can come under my sponsorship later.

Can he work legally if he is under wife's sponsorship.
Just clarify please.

Prema dear,I think it is possible.I have seen hamad nurses do the same.I will check with one of my friend.I think her hubby is under her sponsorship.Let me see if I can get the details for you in two days.

Husbands can very well work under wife's sponsorship. But, since your husband is already working in Qatar, he should get a NOC from his current employer to work in a different company even though he is under your sponsorship.

Hi Prema,

I got this info from QatarLiving forum. You can go through this link as well - Can Husband work under Wife's Sponsorship.

Please check with the labour department. You could be able to sponsor your husband. But, he could work only if his previous company provides NOC.

It's very tricky ques! in UAE if you are under wife or hus sponsorship you need to get your labour card done to work. Out here the labour dept get fussy on issuing labour card to a hus working on wife's sponsorship. It will be good to check with these typing institutes, who do the typing for emigration related paper work.. They are pretty aware, having dealt with similar cases.

@Mega: We too need to get labour card, here in Doha, if working under husband or wife's sponsorship. And, its an excellent idea to check with the 'Application typing centres'. They know about all these things up to date.
