Default Hotels/Restaurants in Doha

Dear Friends,

This thread has been started with the intention of getting to know more than just the few restaurants which we might be frequenting in qatar over the weekends/occassions...

For want of a break/diversion/entertainment, for most of the Indian families, going to a hotel for lunch or dinner has become an integral part of our weekend activities. Talking of hotels, not everyone is aware of every single restaurant/hotel in doha..there are probably around 3-4 restaurants, which comes to our mind, and which we keep visiting regularly...

So why not in this thread, fellow doha ILites share other restaurants/hotel information and some of their food highlight, with their approximate location/landmark ,so people who are looking out for a variety and change can avail them.

This thread could even help newcomers to doha in identifying the hotel of their choice and visit them, whenever they want.

I am starting with few prominent one's here...if you know more, please keeping adding them to this list and comment about their food, service, ambience etc.

1. Aaryaas (Vegetarian)

Branch 1 - Located at Al-Meera Complex, next to Apollo hospital.
Branch 2- B-Ring Road, Right turn under Jaidah flyover when your coming from ramada signal, some 300mts on the same road.

You get the feel eating in one of Tamilnadu hotels, when you taste the food here. Ambience is good.

2. Flavours Restaurant (Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian).
3. Al-Osra Restaurant (Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian).

Both of them Close to Old Mannai Roundabout. Behind Baby Shop. Each restaurant is one behind the other.

4. Garden - Hyderabadi Restaurant. (Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian)

Very good ambience. You get aunthentic andhra meals here. Currently no buffet available at lunch time. This restaurant is located near Q-Tel Signal (Past the Home Centre) and on the ground floor of Le Mirage Building.

5. Asiana Restaurant (Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian)

On the Airport Main Road, close to FFC. The buffet comprising of both Veg/Non-Veg is good. Lots of family parties are held inside the party hall of Asiana. It's very spacious inside too.

Please fill in with more restaurants with their details. We can make our weekend more joyful and tasteful.....let's find out a better alternative to escape from cooking and from kitchen (atleast during weekends!!).

WOK OF FAME
It was dizzying mixture of styles . The restaurant is a typical Chinese one .Dark wooden tables -yellow china plates - junk plastic vine leaves .Our waiter was Indian .The mall itself is in Venetian style .
It is located on a bridge over the canal in the Villagio Mall - this way one can watch the Canal street with gondolas .
It was a Friday afternoon and it was packed with Far Eastern looking people .We waited too much -more than half an hour for our sizzling chicken . Our children became fussy .it was not really kids friendly .
The chicken itself was good but not very special .I had already far better sizzling at the Great Wall - at the Center .The size of the meal was very large . Actually it was enough for three persons .It was not expensive around 20 rial .
My fried noodles was disappointing . I expected some kind of Asian noodles -but what i got it was something like tagliatelle in soy sauce .
I recommend it for people without kids - having plenty of time to wait - and preferring the huge meals over the gourmet one .
