Wal-Mart is hiring 200 people to work at a new store that will open this fall.

A hiring center in Gilbert began accepting applications on Monday to help fill the positions.

The center will continue accepting applications from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    Interested applicants can apply online.

The store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates.

Store Manager Chris Jescheling said, "We are excited to add this Wal-Mart to Tempe and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area."

Jescheling began his Walmart career in 1993 as a tire and lube technician in San Diego.

Jescheling said associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.

The majority of associates will begin work in August to help prepare the store for its grand opening in the fall.

Wal-Mart benefits* - available to eligible full- and part-time associates - include healthcare insurance with no lifetime maximum. Wal-Mart also offers a 401(k) plan and profit sharing contributions, whether an eligible associate contributes or not, store discount cards, stock purchase program and life insurance. Additionally, associates are eligible for company performance-based bonuses.

The temporary hiring center is located in the Maricopa Work Center at 735 N. Gilbert Road, Suite 134 in Gilbert.
