Well atleast we were lucky to take some photos .But on the whole we had a lovely time .

My son was not very chafed because he's always telling me he wants to go to London in the winter then he can play in the snow. So he was feeling a bit envious of his cousins.

Here we don't have snow and I don't think I could handle it anyway - it's cold enough.

Hi Huma,

In Dusseldorf where we lived before snow didn't stay for long. But down South in Bavaria (Munich is the capital of this region), we've quite good snow. And outside city limits it does stay longer in winter. But it's not as bad as showeling etc., still colder in this part of Germany! Latha

i'm not sure about germans not liking 'africans' but yes the medical system here is absolutely good. i find that in France too they give importance to a life rather than the credit card, insurance etc., Latha

Yes Huma I do manage quite well with whatever German I learnt. I did a course for 8 months and then had to stop after my son was born. But because of him (i take him to classes, day care etc.,) I interact a lot with Germans and this has helped me tremendously. I would say compared to even last year now I'm more confident and don't think twice if i make grammatical mistakes etc., i just speak:)

We lived in France a little less than a year. I'm actually surprised about your experience. Because I had a miscarriage while there and I went directly to a gyn and not through a GP. Even some friends (my husband did his MBA there) who had children could see a paediatrician directly without any reference. I have heard worst stories about NHS rules from my friends in London:( Latha
