Hai Everybody!

I have a question? We are planning of going to Whale watching during the weekend. As mentioned earlier I have a 2 year old toddler. Some people said that you get sea sick.

I just want to know whether it is safe to take the toddler there. I also heard that the ferry travels fast.

If anybody have been there, please let me know.

Thanks in advance
Gayathri

Hi Gayathri,
Usually, people will vomit due to the waves. That's all.
I went to Whale watch while 7 months pregnant.
It should be fine. The ferry doesn't travel that fast.
They just go few miles deeper into the ocean and it takes 1-2 hrs for that.
It is totally upto you to decide or you would wait for couple of more years until, your kid grows up to understand and enjoy.

Good luck,
Punitha

Hi Gayathri,
I have been couple times to whale watching and I have seen people getting sea sick. But I have also seen people bringing their toddlers. So you never know if they might become sea sick or not. Yeah the ferry travels quite fast in the sea.

Dear Gayathri,

I have done whale watching and trust me it is lots of fun.
The ferry is not at all fast or unsafe, but u must also be responsible yeah!
Yes,it is quite common to get sea sick but dont worry it wont last long.
If u decide to go i have a few suggestions:
Carry some food items as we get only non veg food on board (i had rolled few chapaties and bananas and it was v helpful).
Take water in bottles
U will need thin wind jackets, not the heavy ones we use for winter. It will be extremely windy and u will be amazed to feel so much wind.
Apply sun screen generously and do carry it with u also,u will need it.
Cover ur kid in jacket.
U will need caps to protect from sun.
Dont forget to carry all the stuff i mentioned. Then it will be fun.Few people were not well equipped and it was tough for them.
Enjoy ur whale watch as much as i did!!! I just loved it.
Feel free to ask any thing more.

suji
