Hi,
You can cover the above places in 3 days or 3 weeks. It depends upon how
you want to see. Like a bird`s eyeview or elaborate visit.
It will be a month to see all the museums in NY.Metropolitan museum of art is one of the best. If it is a short visit do not Empire State building, statue of liberty and central park and ofcourse a walk
on 5th avenue. You can go for a cruise (Circleline cruise.com) for 3 hours
to go around the entire Manhattan island.
In NJ Atlantic city is the Las vegas of the east. That will take a day.

In DC famous Smithsonian museums are there. If you wish you can
go one or two. Air and space museum is my favorite. You can go around
the capitol (Not inside, special permission is needed to go inside)
You can take snaps near White house ie in Pennsylvania Avenue.
In Jefferson memorial you can go boating where you can see thousands
of cherry blossom trees around. (But the cherry blossom festival is over,
it is in early spring)

I have never been to Chicago.
Enjoy your trip and I hope the above information helped.

Hi Perfect,
If you rent a car in NY, you have to spend a lot for
parking charges. The subway system is the best.
You can very well go in train. Within Manhattan
bus transportation is also very good.
One more thing, I forgot to mention. Open bus tours
are the best way to roam around NY. You can hop
on and off at your convenience.
But in DC all Smithsonian musems are nearby the
capital. Again if you rent a car parking may be a
problem. Eventhough free parking is available,
it is tough to get a space in summer months.

Hi PP,
Vidhya has given you a lot of good info. As far as D.C is concerned the best bet would be to park your car in a metro station and take the train. You might end up walking a lot. It is peak season for tourism so finding a parking spot will be difficult.Hope this helps.
