shopping downtown NY

Hi,
I have heard abt wholesale stores in downtown NY and stuffs are cheap and good variety, does anyone know where to buy what?

one of my friend told she bought stone work kind of artificial jewellery, clips, and fancy stuff, handbags etc for cheap rate but no idea where to look for it.

But what i heard is one street is full of bags, other street for crystals/stone jewellery etc and some streets for fabric etc. just like our parrys corner.

Chinatown is like that chaaral.. u get prada for $20 ;) ofcourse the duplicate ones.. The stores are just like our ranganathan street with small shops on either side with lots of different things you can purchase, especially for the outside circle people in India where the budget for them would be <$20 and still gift them with branded stuff.

also you can spend a day in NY.. every other street will have $5 hangbags, sunglasses, watches etc.. all stolen from warehouse .. just walk around, like in time square, streets next to manhattan mall.. you will see them..

I work downtown.. about 3 blocks from Chinatown.. its got a whole bunch of stuff.. its cheap, so don't expect much!

Also, for shopping, SoHo is awesome.. just a few blocks from Chinatown.. right around Spring street.. check out Century 21 as well.. good stuff there and its a huge store.. multiple floors of just goodies!!

No wonder my dh is not taking me to china town, i have been asking him for years now

Just thinking of college days when we used to go as a gumbal for shopping with friends and it was soo much fun. i miss those days :(

NY is a kadal chaaral.. u can get anything you want for the money you like just got to find the right places
