Default Which Blender/Mixie is good?

Hi,
I want to buy a blender which suits to South Indian needs.Can Any one suggest me which is good.We are going to stay here for just one year So I dont want to go for Preethi or summet which are expensive.

Dear Rama

Welcome to NJ. You can go for Oster brand blender which suits for South Indian cooking well. You can even make idly/dosa batter in that. Please go for 14speed or 16speed blender, then only it will be durable. The blender comes with a tall jar. You can also buy a small mixi jar(suitbale for making podis and chutneys)from Indian stores seperately. The blender will cost around 25 to 30bucks and the small jar will be around 10bucks.

I have been using the Oster blender successfully for the past one year.

i too have oster blender 16 speed. we can get small jar in indian shop iam using past 2 years its good.

Thanks For the Information.I need one more clarification.There are so many varieties in oster blender.How to choose?(In 14 speed /16 speed)Can anyone suggest any model number.Where can I get a blender which is reasonably priced?
