Temporary Visitor Driver's License-IL (H4)

I just finished my driver's license written test at Chicago West today. Jus wanted to share my experience.

If u are under H4 visa, you need to grab a letter from SSA (Social Security) stating your ineligibility for a SSN and docs stating your proof of address & visa. You are only eligible for Temp Visitor's License, so save your time and trip and get to the right location.

Try to get in early or else you will end up waiting for hours cause the system is too slow.

The service and the atmosphere is non-pleasing. If your spouse is accompanying u, he will have to wait outside while you sit alone. Be prepared and equipped to kill your time!

Once its your turn, prepare for another 15minutes of exercise routine standing.

Ensure that your name is spelt correctly. State why you are there clearly. Get the words right! Learner's Driving license or Learner's Written Test. Cause there are chances for the officer to confuse you with their confusion.

The test will be a breeze if you did your study questions and know your signs.

Once you clear that, they will give you a white card, assuming that you know thats your learner's permit. Prepare not to ask any questions for they have no time to answer and just escape from there or else they will ask you to queue one more time.
