One day fall scenic road trip - WI

ANy good suggestions for one day scenic fall road trip in the south part of WI or North IL??

Hi Sri,

There's lots of places to visit in WI. For One day trip u can visit Lake Geneva which is just 1- 1/2 hr drive from waukegan.
Doorcounty is also a must see place in WI during fall. It has got many islands to visit. U can have nice time there.But it takes 2 days to see.

Today was browsing through Midwest living magazine in the dentist's office and found the following fall scenic drives in IL:

1. Great river road, IL - State 100 wedges between limestone cliffs and the Missippi north of Alton following the river closer than most stretches of the byway ( www. visitalton.com )

2. Pere Marquette State Park, IL - Roads and trails weave through this bluff-top part north of Grafton overlooking the Illinois river near its meeting of the Mississippi.

3. Vast Shawnee national forest in sourthern IL ( www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/shawnee/ )
