Wanna know about Penang

Hi

Iam planning to move from Bangalore to Penang, so i would like to know about Penang. If anybody who is living in Penang can tell me about the climatic conditions, the cost of living, the medical facilities available there and also about the food (iam a vegetarian) etc. Can u also tell me how much money is required per month to live a decent family, mine is a small family(a husband,wife and one kid). waiting for ur reply. Thanks in advance.

Iam not from Penang so iam unable to tell you much abt it. But on the whole let me tell you (readings your other posts):
1) You need a car to move around. You can buy second hand or new. If you have money and you are going to stay longer i will say go for new since you will not have any problems. Malaysian made cars are cheaper, but keep aside min RM 35000.

2) Parking charges depend on the area varies from RM 2- RM 10.00

3) Rental keep aside RM 700 for small apartments.

4) best area for residence in Penanag iam not sure, you have to look around. Go for that is closer to your office & if with family closer to the school.

welcome to penang!
it's a beatiful island. it's a multiracial city.. u will see a lot of malays, chinese and indians.

the cost of living is better compare to big metropolitan cities like KL.
if u have a decent income.. living in penang...is wonderful.

there are a lot of hospitals/clinics available... 24 hr. so.. that's one good thing about penang.

about the food... u can get vegetarian in varieties... indian vege...chinese vege... very tasty foods. penang is famous for it's various cuisine/foods. many restaurants are open 24 hr. the city never sleeps..!!!

for shopping... u can go to malls.... there are alot of malls... u can't finish shopping in one day...that's for sure. a lot of them..
most of the items are in affordable range unless u go for big branded items.
