Shops selling craft items in KL?

Hi,
I will be visiting KL next week for holidays.
Can somebody tell me is there any shops in KL that sells craft items like stones, threads and stuff like that? Also fabric?

Also are there any special buys from KL?

I have seen some whole sale shops for the items you have mentioned, near the china town area in KL. Perhaps MalaysianILites would give better guidance. Happy trip to Malaysia!

Central market caters to all craft items, most shopping complex will have at least one shop that sells threads and needles etc. It is easy identify when you see lots of articial/handcrafted flowers are there.Look for shops that caters for malays weddings you will find various handworks

Central market is very close to china town, or one stop before Pudu terminus. It is in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, any one in KL will be able to guide you.
It is also called pasar seni catering for arts & crafts of malaysia.

Actually, this is the same place which I was telling also. But I only remember the Jln TAR after you have mentioned, since only my husband is familiar with KL and I have visited only few times. Thanks again.

One place is Central Market as mentioned by many here. It is near China Town or Petaling Street and quiet close Masjid India or Little India. Within walking distance from the Putraline LRT's Pasar Seni station (please confirm this). You can check out their website at www.centralmarket.com.my

Another good place is Kraft Center which is at Jalan Conlay which is near Petronas Tower or Raja Chulan by mono-rail.
