Hi Harini,

I m Vidhya. I live in Wembley, moved from Chennai to London 2 yrs back. Wembley is the nearest place where u can get every "Indian" thing u want, though Harrow has some shops too. Hope u get good friends in the new place. All the best

Hi Srivathsa!

Nice to know abt u. I live near Wembley Park station. I m BSc Graduate and i m a stay at mom too. My Husband is a S/W engineer and my daughter is 3 yrs old. I m living in Wembley since May 2007. I believe u have moved in recently. How do u find it?

Happy to be in touch with you. Though i see so many Indians around, as u said every one is hesitating to start with same as me :). So I cudnt make many friends other than my husband's colleague and their families. Most of them moved to back to India again. So end up bored and saturated with this lifestyle. Seeking new friends to refresh myself.

Regards
Vidhya

Hi Vidya & Srivatsa,
I too am looking out for new friends, though i m moving to London only on July 13th...
Just want to ask one quick question if u wouldnt mind replying. are clothes very expensive in london ? i m travelling alone with my infant so not planning to take many of my clothes as i would have to manage carrying much weight. Would appreciate if u would let me know if i would end up paying more for buying clothes there...

Hi Vidya, Srivatsa and Harini,

I also also coming to London on the 13th of July with my little girl though only for a very short holiday, just 4 days. We have a Tier 1 General Migrant Visa and my husband is already there looking for openings.

We will be joining him there and will be staying at Hotel IBIS in Wembley. You have already said that we have Indian stores there but I also want to know if we can find good south indian restuarants nearby. My kid doesnt like bread or cornflakes..and she is used to eating Indian or Chinese mostly..so I am a little anxious. Please help me out.. Thanks

By the way Harini by which flight are you leaving Chennai.. I am going to fly by Emirates 9.45 A.M Indian time on 13th July.

Regards
Shyamala
