Uma,

I have skimmed through the site that you have sent ..shall go through it in detail ..I have been thinking for a long time to get involved in some voluntary work but owing to work commitments and other things never got around anything.I actually can't send any private message to find out if you were involved in anything prior to this and what was your experience like.

Uma ,

You are absolutely right.Since we cant spend time during weekdays , it is a good thought to spend few hours on voluntary work during weekends. Do you have any thoughts on the voluntary work which is suitable or prior experince to share so that we are all enlightened on where exactly we fit in.Appreciate your effort in bringing this up and starting this thread.

hi,

I am afraid, I don' have any previous experience on this.but wat i can c thru the info from the website is,its something which is feasible.

Elaborately, when u c the voluntary opportunities list.u can find opportunities like sending emails about the MOM(v can't do it since v need to attend meetings for few hours on weekday, wich is tough for us)

but there are options like "shaking a bucket for donation",gardening work on a church, fencing for a charity meeting(wich i saw in the previous month's oppurtunities) seems to be ok for us and it allows flexible timing u can acually put in.

so v cud try those options.

Cheers,
Uma

Hello ladies:

I volunteer at my children' school and it feels really good to be able to help out. The good thing is you can choose from so many volunteering opportunities to help a charity which you can relate to most.

Here is another link that I follow - www.do-it.org.

Good luck with your search.

Sindhu
