Any Tamil Community/Group/Association in Al Khobar??

Hello Rajesh,

This is RaviShankar. I landed in Khobar on Monday and staying in Suite near to Petrocon, Mcdonalds.

I am from Chennai and planning to bring my family once I get my IQAMA.
I have one daughter who has completed 4th standard.

I am look out for family apartment. Where do you stay. I am looking for an apartment where my wife can also have a time pass where tamils leave.

Can you please share the details.

I planning to shift my family once i get my iqama . i hav been provided with company accomodation for this 10 days . Meanwhile i hav to search a house / flat for rent .

am in urgent need of any house / flat for rent preferably were tamil families/southindians reside so that my wife can also be engaged.

I am Ajantha from chennai. My husband has reached khobar on 13 th june'11 and is temporarily taken accomodation in khobar rizhayat. myself and my child will be relocating in the month of aug or sep. my son is studying 1st std cbse board. my husband is looking for housing in rizayat. He told that compounded living is safe than apartment living as the apartment living does not give any freedom even to open our house window and ladies should always stay inside. As you are living for the past 1 year could you please tell me about the apartment life. is it safe? and what is the level of freedom?
Also please tell me about the Indian schools and its fee structure for 1st std.

I am from Chennai and glad to be a member of this site. My husband and I will be moving to Khobar in few months. I would like to clarify a few things.
1. Is compound living safer/better than apartment? What will be the approximate rent of a single bedroom house in a compound? Is there any specific area where tamilians/south indians live?
2. What will be the monthly cost of living for two?
3. What are the entertainment options nearby?
4. Are there agents available for house hunting?
5. Are women allowed to go out alone to nearby supermarkets/shops?
6. Is abaya compulsory in all places? How about head scarf?
7. Are apartments available with furnishing ( TV, washing machine, furnished kitchen,etc)? Are all kitchen appliances available in nearby malls? Is there anything specific which we would require to carry with us from India?
