I enjoyed the visions of Dubai, just breathtaking. I will visit the site again to see the pictures again.
I saw in a programme the desert drive. I get that without ever visiting the Gulf. Last year, during the rains, the roads on our side of the city got damamged very badly and everytime we drove out, it was like driving in the desert. Even now, Ambattur road is like a race track. I am sure even Narain Karthikeyan would find it hard to drive on our road.

I will be grateful if you can tell me where I can buy the following in Dubai:

1) good quality badam and saffron (last time the entire lot, rotted away)
2) Rhodium+ gold jewellery
3) Iranian carpets

I will have only a short period there, so it will be helpful to have this info in advance.

Dear Vidya,
Rhodium +gold jewellery is available in Gold centre , Deira. It's a big mall and there are some other centres for gold. It is the easily available thing here, I think. You can see jewellery showrooms in every shopping centre.
Good quality badam and saffron is available in souk (market) in Deira. All the shopping malls offer only best quality items.
Carpet land in oasis centre, Karama , one friend told us you will get good Iranian carpets there. But in big shopping centres it might be costly, and there are many ordinary shops that sell carpets.
Look Vidya, these three things are very easy to get here. Better you visit some shopping malls like City Centre, Lulu hyper market etc.
Don't forget to visit Ibn Battuta mall, emirates mall etc when you come, pls PM me when you come. Hope we can meet.

I love Dubai and really do miss the place...I wanted to see the snaps on the URL u sent across but it said the page could not be found...
In which part of Dubai do u reside ....I left Dubai a year back and am in Kerala now....
I did my studies there and then came down to Kerala then went down in between again and worked as a teacher in an institute....
I miss the place..I don't think there is any place as beautiuful as Dubai even though its crowded now......
