But now again i feel tensed while changing lanes, taking right turns. suggest me any guide.. where i can learn, please tell me about your experience i desperately need some. | hey sudhira thats very common, when I first started driving i would get so scared that even my hands would shake, its very common. I learnt driving for 4 months before got my license, so thats why i had no problem driving alone after the license, don't worry u are not alone, just keep practicing and u will surely gain confidence. all the best. |

| Hai sudhira, As all have earlier mentioned u sure are not alone. Supriya is absolutely correct....take the car alone and start driving.....do not panic while driving even if u make mistakes. Always practice driving within given speed limits and apply steady breaks. Do you have a GPS with voice alerts? it sure worked great for me. try it out. All the best. |

| Kavitha is right. As you are scared to go on your own and take turns etc, a GPS with voice would be a great help to you. Even when you practice alone on lanes close to your house, just switch it on to go to the nearest grocery store and back home, That will be good practice for you on known roads and you will slowly gain confidence too.

| Hi friends, hello to all, iam new to IL and this is my first post. Iam really happy to have found this forum and i just love it. coming to the discussion..... hey sudhira, don't worry, its very common to have road fear (i think esp ladies have it !!) i was also very scared even after getting license. I used to always wonder about what my husband is going to tell abt my driving ......whenever my husband asks me to drive somewhere nearby i used to avoid telling various reasons !! one day i just decided that i'll go alone to nearby store, and believe me i was so anxious that literally i shivered while driving :) but from then on i started gaining confidence with each drive. The main thing is u shudn't panic when u do some mistake... keep a cool mind and start ur venture.. u'll do mistakes but u'll learn a lot when u drive by urself ..Good luck to u !! |

| Try driving with gPS and it worked for me and couple of my friends........Drive alone on roads with less traffic for a while!!!!! |

| Don't have your hubby in the passenger seat. When my wife got her license and I was sitting next to her in the car, I was so tensed at the way she was driving, changing lanes etc., Needless to say there were yelling matches and my BP went high whenever she drove. Once she got the courage to take the car by herself, things sorted out. I suggest you take a close friend of yours with you instead of your hubby. |
