Good idea priya about orkut. I am already a member on orkut. and about our meeting, since many of us have driving problem, maybe we should make this a family get-together so that the men can drive.

I have another idea that if you guys come to my place in Fremont, there is a big park right beside our apartments, so there are refreshments as well as a place to play. what do you guys think?

Hi Sunita,

I understand your fear of driving in traffic, i too had the same and still do for some extent, but when you keep on practicing then the fear gets reduced. I already had a license for driving in India so i guess it was bit easier for me here.
My husband has been helping me in this matter by taking me for driving and guiding me. We would go out in the afternoon when the traffic was less and after my kid has been fed and when it was his nap time we would go and in the car seat he would sleep very well.

We started out by practicing in a Business Area where there is not much traffic and gradually went to the main roads. Basically i went for about 10 times to practice about 1-2 hr each on sundays & saturdays. The more you practice the more you'll get better. Just remember the basic rules and road signs and keep with the flow of the traffic.
After i practiced then in the end i went to an instructor so that he could tell me if i was driving well, he said i was fine and they took an appt at Fremont DMV. I also took a package deal from my instructor where they would pick me up on the day of the test and we pratice for sometime and then i would go for the test while my husband was at home taking care of the kid and instructor dropped me of at home after the test.

it was v helpful for me!

And also drive n practice in roads around dmv(dmv in which ur taking tests).

If u do this ur sure to get license!
