A good family physician needed asap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Gals,

It is time I change my doctor as I end up spending tons of money bcos of her (lack of) diagnostic abilities. Even for a small problem, my doc prescribes me a fleet of tests and the specialists she has asked me to see were even wondering why she makes such a big deal out of a small issue. I am sure many of you have the same problem with your doctors, but mine is really unusual.. she just doesn't diagnose anything even after she has all the blood test results etc.,..and the phrase she uses is 'to be on a the safe side' I have to see specialists and go thro' ultrasound/scan etc., all cost me a bunch in copay. As I have realised that my doc is determined to make me bankrupt, I am determined to stay away from her to keep my wealth and health in tact. So gals, how about helping me out in suggesting a good doctor for me. I am a real healthy person and meet my doc hardly once for annual checkup and any other time if I am suffering from viral or some fever due to infection. No major health issues that requires constant medication. All I need is a sensible doctor who understands my problems, if any and prescribe some simple medicine to cure it.

I can't believe no one knows a good family doctor around Bay area (South Bay).

I know many of my friends are unhappy with their doctors, but I thought floating an inquiry in our forum would fetch some good results... well I am wrong for once..

Anyway, take your time and let me know if you get any good referrals about a good doc and my annual checkup comes around June this year and it would help if I get the info before June, so that I can change the doctor by then.

Though i live in Virginia, I have been in Bay area for around 5 years...infact we moved to virginia around one and half years back.

We lived in Pleasanton(East bay) close to Livermore temple.

As for finding physicians..it depends on your insurance company and type of insurance(HMO,PPO etc)

Just like that, we cannot randomnly pick out physicians..unless you are willing to PAY OUT OF YOUR POCKET!!

If your company or your spouse's company is paying for insurance, then my suggestion will be

1. Please call your insurance company and get a list of family physicians living close to your area. If you have insurance cards, pls call the 1-800 number on the card and they will provide you a directory/a web site link from which you can choose the doctor closest to your residence.

2. Then you need to call the doctor's office closer to you and make sure they are accepting that insurance.

3. Moreover, you also need to make sure you lab tests are also covered by the insurance if conducted by that doctor of your choice or you need to take them to separate labs that accept your insurance.

she is just perfect doctor as far as I know!
she doesnt burden u with too much test and recommends the excat speciallist sometimes if she cant do it!

Moreover she speaks Tamil.
