Hey gals, I need some information about the bluecross insurance. The co-payment is 40$ (which is very high compared to other insurance companies). We are planning to have a baby and my current gynecologist suggested me to see a infertility specialist. The problem is my insurance covers upto 2000$ only for infertility treatment and i am told that the treatment will cost more than 5000. So my question is anybody has the bluecross insurance? Is there any other options to minimize the cost which i hv to pay out of my pocket. thanks... Rashy

I also have blue cross insurance. Its not insurance specific, its what kind of coverage your employer has procured for you. For me, insurance covers 100% of everything... However in your case, you can think of putting rest of 3000$ in Flexible spending account (FSA).. This money comes from your salary only. But its pre-tax, hence you will have 33% benefit. Hope this helps. ria

Hi Ria and Shobana, Thanks for replying to my post. I really appreciate your help. As you guys told we have already enrolled to FSA. I agree with you shobana....the cost for the treatment is not at all reachable. So lets see how it works. bye Rashy
