Default Need Advice .... Getting things to Australia from India

Dear Indusladies,

I am returning to India to get my dependent Visa.I am going alone am a bit scared because last time my husband accompanied me and now he is not.All these days my husband was staying alone and managed less household goods. When I joined him we bought some more stuffs which are necessary. But most of the things are damn expensive here. I am traveling in Singapore Airlines so would like to know how many Kilos I can carry. One more thing is What all things I can get from India which is expensive here like a pressure cooker some other stainless steel vessels, Idli thattu etc

Please let me also know whether I can get home made powders neatly packed and sealed like sambar powder, Rasam poder, Paruppu podi etc.

Am eagerly waiting some tips from those who have good experience.

Thanks in Advance
Alamu

Dear Alemu,

Mixies etc are allowed. The best way to get anything right frm pickles & spices is to put a label (as in commercial masala packets).Whole spices/plant materials/fruits are not allowed.

The best way to find out wld be visit the quarantine website:

www.australia.gov.au/Customs_&_Quarantine_for_Migrants

I hope this helps,

Cheers,

Corallux
