Default Shipping to aus

Hi,,,,

im planning to ship some utensils(grinder, pressure cooker, idli pan) , clothes and some of my books to Aus before i go.....

can i know about the clearing charges there? is it high.....it cost me 20,000 srilankan rupees to ship 1 cubic metre box.....( that's around 8,000 Indian rupees)......but now im bit worried about the clearance etc on that side....i heard they'll charge around 150-200 dollars......

I'm beginning to think whether shipping these stuff is a good idea at all.....with the clearance and documentation charges added together wouldnt buying all the stuff in aus be more reasonable....

i was trying to save but looks like im spending moree......:(
pls advice....

Hi Supriya,

I suggest you carry mixer grinder, flat bottom utensils(few as per your cooking needs), pressure cooker, idli mould with you if you can carry. Grinders, pressurecookers, utensils, books are expensive here.

You get 40 kgs baggage allowance one way if you are immigrating from Quatas airways. Also if you still need to ship some utensils, clothes, books, use DHL good service door to door.

U get all spices, creams, pressure cookers, grinders, DVD in Indian supermarkets. I have seen saree shops and salwaars shops. I would suggest just carry or ship stuff thats essential. You get the everything here(pricey) but better than the shipping hassles.
