Default Supermarket

Hi Everyone,

My brother is going to Australia for studies. Can you please suggest me supermarkets or grocery stores there. I am in USA and we usually have Walmart and Kroger here. I just wanted to know similar store names there. I want to know about it so that I can teach him few quick recipes based on things available there. He does not know how to cook. It will be of great help if someone could help me out. He will be in Perth.

Thanks,
Ish84

Default Re: Supermarket

Don't get too worried about Australia. Here we have plenty of Indians, Indian restaurants and plenty of Indian grocery stores. We have a chain of supermarkets called Safeway or Woolworths, Coles, Bi-Lo, and many other smaller ones. Many of the bigger supermarkets such a Safeway/Woolworths & Coles also stock Indian groceries like lentils, masala pastes and pappadams. At the Indian grocery stores your brother can also pick up ready to eat Indian meals, but surely with such a caring sister he will soon learn to cook.
