| Hi I would agree with latha, in saying that getting a PR is the best way to come here. Most of teh employers do not wwant to process work visa, unless, your husband's line of work is extremely rare and they do not get professionals like him within Australia. However, you can PM me about your hub's professional details and I shall check with my hub, who has been in the IT industry here for more than 4 years. We actually applied for our Austrlian PR while we were in Singapore and then it was easy to find a job here. The work and life sttyle here is quite cool and realxed and here the locals giv e alot of importance to family and personal ambitions and enjoyment, then anything else. Let me know if you need any other specific info. Cheers Sumathy (Sky9 |

| Hiya KSmanand, For directions regarding Sponsership, pls visit the immigration home page on: Department of Immigration and Citizenship it will list all types of visas. I personally would not adv you to try for sponsorship as it is a gamble. If you get a good company fine. If not, you could end up with n number of problems. For job opportunities, please visit SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site As for expenses, it depends on your lifestyle & where you want to settle. Sydney is expensive, Melbourne suburbs are affordable. But check the real estate website on www.domain.com.au for updated info. Any other queries, just ask.... Our forum can help you with suggestions. Sky98 already has volunteered to help with more info reg your hubby's qualifications.Good on you girl !Regards, Corallux Quote:

| Hi Iam currently residing in dubai .Both me and hubby are bankers. Wanted to know whether offshore permanent visa is required for all kind of professions. If s after getting the same can we apply for banks direclty from here? How abt the job oppurtunities in banks there ? Grateful if u could update on the same. Luv Brindha |

| Hi Brindhaa, A PR helps you live in OZ without any tension. PR helps you get citizenship easily after completion of 4 (four) years(on completion of the necessary conditions). Job opportunities are more for people who hold PR as they can work for unlimited hours unlike student visas where you can work for only 20hrs p/w. Brindha, jobs in banks are easy to come by. For jobs in financial sector, please visit: www.hays.com.au LINK Recruitment The best website for any jobs are : SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site Jobs, Employment & Careers @ My Career Hope this helps, Regards, Corallux Quote:

| Hi Brinda Coralux is correct in saying that getting a PR makes your stay here permanent and makes it easier to change jobs if needed. Bt coralux, i think applying for citizenship requires you stay for continuous 2 years, unless they have changed the rules recently. Because, we just got our citizenship after completion of 2 years and along with other formalities. My hub has been in teh banking industry here, (on the IT side), and i gather form him that Banks usually go by reference for job offers. Talk to some one of the same profession, if you can and see if they have any leads here. That might make it easier. Hope this helps. Cheers Sky98 Quote:

| HI Sky98, Thanks for your post. The rules have now changed. Citizenship now takes 4 (four) years of continuous stay in Oz (unless you have left OZ for a specific reason & can back it up with good proof). You also have to now sit for a citizenship test. I agree with Sky when she says she got her citizenship after 2 years. I did too. The rules have now changed. Regards, Corallux Quote:
