Default Car Boot Sale

Hi all melbournians

Did any of you know about the term CAR BOOT SALE. Did you know that you can sell all your unwanted stuff in your house, and it could be someone's treasure.
I came to know recently that there are lot of markets, in and around Melbourne, which have car boot sales.
I beleive that this started as a informal thing in small communities, where people, just brought their stuff and displayed them in the boot of their car and made money. Nowdays schools and churches are doing them as fund raisers.

Does anyone know of a market, near your place? Maybe you could be a bit richer, by trading your unwanted goods....

Cheers

Hi Sky98,

Thanks for the new informative thread.

Car boot sales along with Garage sales are a common feature in & around Melb.It is very simple to advertise: Just stick posters on pillers & hang cardboard signs in your area advertising your sales. It can be anywhere: your home, local carpark, Church Or even the local park.

I have seen many good quality goods sold at throwaway prices. Would caution against electonic goods, DVDs, CDs or any game console.

Await FBs from other members in Melb/OZ regarding their experiences re car boot sales/garage sales.

ILs around the world do you have something like this? Would love to know more....

Regards,

Corallux

Hi Sky98,

You might want to check following link for Melbourne markets - car boot sale

Markets - Melbourne

If you are stying in a unit, you can advertise in lift. Lots of people in my building does that.

Also, you can put an advertisement in local library etc.

That way you can sell without spending your weekend on that.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
