Hi HK,

Welcome to IL.

Regarding ur doubts...I think, Arunarc will be able to help u. She was in Australia for some yrs. Now she is in Egypt though. U may send her a PM, in case she misses this msg.

Besides that there may be others also who could help out.
Keep checking..

hi hema,

Pls check uthayam.net, this is a tamil/english local newspaper of victoria/melbourne. In this you can find the ads of local indian stuff, also you can have an idea of happenings around. If you check the monthly issues online you can find one srilankan grocery ad also.

Hi Hema Malini,
I can understand what you ar eundergpoing. Do not hold back any questions you have, just ask & I am sure there will be more experienced ladies who can answer your it.
Australia has a policy of Multi-Culturalism. People go out of their way to make u comfy. Your child will assimilate quite easily here.
Indians are there everywhere in Melb. Most Indian children start in govt schools & then go into private schools.
Love,
Lakshmi

Hi Hema

So when are you moving, or have you already moved here to Melbourne? The reason I asked is because, its a good idea for him to start, school here in January, because of 2 reasons, (1) school starts in jan and he can meet other children who are also new to the school (2) starting in the middle of school term can make some children nervous, to settle in, since other children have already settled down.
I live in Glen Waverley, a lot of Indians live here and there are lot of cultural classes like carnatic music, mridangam, dance etc. Do ask me if you need more info or help.

Love
Sumathy

Hi Yamuna,

Welcome to the forum. For more info on living in Perth, just Google it. Perth is a lovely place, only drawback is that there are not many Indians there.

The climate tends to be warm for most of the year.Housing prices are cheap. BONUS: you are close to India!

Perth is famous for it's beaches & the people are very friendly

Regards,

Corallux
