Hi Sunkan

I actually dont know exactly about Nigeria, but my cousin is living in Kenya (on a temporary contract), which is a nearby country, and according to her Kenya is not at all safe, but they have a huge indian population there. They move around in groups only, with their colleagues and their families, even the maids cannot be trusted, they can kill anyone even for food... there is a lot of poverty...

I also have a friend in Uganda, on a temporary contract only and that is also not safe, but these places have so much of indian population, that you can see Pan shops everywhere and stuff... but they are ordered by the companies they are working for, not to go out of the housse after 5-6 o clock in the evening..

these places have a lot of internal disturbances, so a lot of violence...

if the person is goin with family and she knows people around that place already, then its okey, otherwise its not recommended.

Sundari,

If your friend, the young lady is going alone- the answer is a big NO,NO! With a husband, it is slightly safer. It depends largely on the area where she will be posted. If it is Lagos or Abuja, it is okay. Life is secure, all Indian stuff is available, there are Indian temples, HUGE Indian populations.

But if it is a oil company in Niger delta, Port Harcourt- tell her not even to think of it, it is very, very unsafe.

Hello Abha,
What you said about Kenya is very wrong, i will tell you why the maids kill for food and it is the first time i am hearing i have been born and brought up in Nairobi, we have 4 african servants at home working for us. The people or expats coming from India under pay their servants, they mistreat them, they don't even give them food, they discriminate them and they are loud, i have witnessed all this. so next time have your facts right.
