wanted to know about Kampala

Hi Friends,

My Husband has recently go a job offer from Kampala, Uganda. Although he has accepted but we are not sure whether we should take it up since lots of things are going on in our mind..like safety, community, cost of living, children education and lifestyle. Would appreciate if anyone currently living there can help. Thanks in advance.

welcome to kampala.pls don't be scared.its a good & safe place.
there is a big Indian community,shops,temples ,gurudwara,............
kampala is small place almost like oaty with lake victoria.it has very pleasant climate.we wear full sleeved clothes in morning & evening.mosquitos are a problem but with nets & coil its managable.
cost of living is rather higher (much much higher then india) but all Indian things,veg,pulses etc are available.
lots of malls,supermarkets & tourist attractions.
