Default Book Club

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone is interested in reading. It would be nice to start a book club and meet once a month to discuss good reading. Do let me know if anyone is interested? We could meet at each others house or in a mall depending on the number of people.

Regards,
Sapna

Hi Vishy,

Good to hear from you. I have that book but havent started reading it yet. I am currently reading "the palace of illusions" by chitra banerjee. After I finish this, I am going to read "almost single". We can surely meet up. I stay just behind Hamdan Centre near gift tower building. Lets fix up a date tp catch up.

Regards,

Hi everyone.
This book club idea is awesome! I enjoy reading very much n I would would love to join u guys! Only thing is I take time to finish books :*)
I have finished reading "The White Tiger" by Aravind Adiga just a little while ago. So, as of now, I am trying to find a good book to read :o) !! I gifted my husband "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown just yesterday, but me not really being into Dan Brown books, I doubt if I would want to read it myself.
Anyways, looking fwd to being a part of the club!
Cheers.

Hey...

I too have read 'The white tiger' and have 'The secret' but still not read it. Even though I have heard from several people that its a great book. I loved "the White Tiger". Very well written. Its something we all have seen growing up in India yet it keeps you engaged till the very last page.

Why dont we meet up girls? Just for a coffee or something. Anyone up for it????

Regards,
Sapna

I too think we should meet soon.....

Sapna I think we stay close-by. Even I enjoyed reading White Tiger.. though I thought it's another Slum Dog.... sketching the negative side of India....

I suggest we all first meet up in a common place like a park or something, get the contact details and proceed further. Wot you all say? (morning or evening)

The Capital Garden park ( the one with two arabic jugs ) is close to my house... anybody has any other suggestion?

Yeah! I so agree with you Sapna. I too thoroughly enjoyed reading "The White Tiger".
As you said Vishy, it does project the not-so-glamorous side of India but then I personally don't feel that any country is perfect in every way, no matter whatsoever. Every Indian I am sure is proud of his or her roots. I strongly believe that instead of hiding our weaknesses, each one of us should make a genuine effort towards recognizing n eliminating them, by contributing towards it in even the smallest way we can.
Phew!!
Err, That was long. Hehe!! I really mean it though :*) .
I found the dark humor quite amusing n the author's philosophical perspective made me realize certain things that I have grown up seeing, in a way like I had never thought of before.
Anyways, I guess meeting outdoors or even in a mall is a gr8 idea. Any place is fine with me, as long as u help me out with the directions. Sad but I am terrible with my geography Hehe!! I suggest if we are meeting outdoors, an evening gathering would be more suitable, considering the weather.
