Hi Nims,

To start with you could do it from home itself. With your knowledge and exp if you can get to have a good rapport with the employers that is a big plus. You can have a separate group created in yahoo for this purpose and post your req there where you can hunt for candidates. A word of mouth to friends and relatives will fetch you some openings too.

For more professional advice, I guess the ones into the field will help you out.

My wishes on your venture.

Poornima.

Hi

Here is some inputs that I can share from my side:

1) As others have already pointed out you need a good networking with Employers. It need not necessarily be with HR departments initially, but someone at decision making levels.
2) You need to have network of candidates too. This is mainly to meet quick needs.
3) You should decide if you want to project your firm as specialized in particular skills or general recruitment?
4) What additional benefits are you going to provide the employers - like will you be doing prescreening of candidates etc.?
5) What is your approach to work with clients? How closely will you be working with them?
6) Depending on your focus area - your employee pool also need to be accordingly strong enough. So how ready are you from that point?
7) If you plan to do things like prescreening etc. your employees should have strong HR skills - do you have such a talent resource with you? etc.

And more.....

Hope it helps!

Cheers
Jenz

Hi Nims,

Recruitment Consultancy is in great demand these days. After all who does not want a better job.
I did freelance as a consultant with a mumbai based company for over two years. But needed my time off every now & then since my daughter was small then.
Point is, I have huge amount of resumes & contacts that i had collected then.... especially from the retail, media, & FMCG industry.
So is you are looking for someone to join hands with you, you could PM me. BTW, I am currently based in Bangalore... but that should not matter, I guess.

In anycase, all the best for your venture.
Eesha

Thumbs up Re: Recruitment Consultancy

Hi! Nims,

Good Luck on your venture. It really works out when you put in 200% of hard work & dedication. Get more contacts and respond to them immediately. Always be available for a discussion and touch base with your clients atleast once in a day or two....

It is always better to specialise in 1 or 2 areas, so that the client comes back to you only. Have a USP.

I am in this Recruitment for more than 4 years now and wishing you loads of best wishes
