    Hi All,
Sorry I couldn't find time to login after that...
    Here comes the details..
The trainer charged us 1000 for 12 varieties.(When I first
contacted her it was 500 only as there was a festival discount and I
was busy with festival. When I contacted her again it was 800 I was
busy with a release at office. Now I freely went there and it's 1000
:-( ) It took over 4 hours to show all. She showed us from double
boiling the chocolate to wraping and packing. By the way the material
and all she only arranged and she devided the outcome at the end and
    distributed to us :).
    Varieties she tought were
    Fillings :-
Prepare shells with the chocolates and make it ready to fill the
    contents
    1) Coffee :- double boil 3 pinches of coffee powder(Bru prefereble) add
milk powder and powdered sugar make small balls add condensed milk if it
    is too hard.
    2) Coconut :- Add coconut powder intead of coffee in the above
    procedure and prepare balls.
    3) Walnut :- Prepare wall nut powder and mix that with condensed milk
    and sugar syrup prepare balls.
place these balls one per shell and fill the remaining chocolate and
let that set for some more time.
    4) almond :- Place an almond and pour the choc on top of it.
    5) Fruit and nut :- half fill the choc and add raisins, kaju, pista,
    almond and fill the rest.
    6) Crakle :- Add crushed corn flakes(Plain only otherwise the flavour
dominates) to the choc and pour in moulds.
    7) Flavoured :- add little (Few drops) essence to the choc and pour in
    the moulds.
    8) choco bix. :- pour little choc which can cover the base design of
the mould (Mould should be big enough to fit marrie biscut) put marrie
biscut don't press much and fill the remaing.
    9) Name forgot :- Mix brownsugar/bournvita in choc and pour in mould.
    10) add crushed peanut chikki prepared with sugar to choc and pour in
    mould.
Two more missing right let me check the papers will definitely post
them. Mean while you try these.

The experts in chocolate making who are already reading this why don't
you plan to start the classes if you are already doing it. Nothing new here you just going to do what you prepare for yourself in front of all. once in 2 weeks if you have one class with 3-4 candidates more than enough right... worth giving a thought...

Material available at Venkateswara agencies General bazar. Let me give
you more landmarks to help you reaching there. If you know general
bazar in secunderabad you might be knowing the small lane with too many cloth shops at the begining where Taruni and cheap jack(2 famous dress shops) are opposite to each other many more wholesale shops are there. If you are able to reach that line you can call the shop Here is the # 66483608 and ask them to guide they will guide or send someone (It happened for me ;-) ) I've been to general bazar many times but the small lanes with too many shops will confuse you.

Hmmmmm such a big one it became I was keep saving my notepad not to
    miss the details again :).

Hey forgot the current prices are
    170 per kg - dark/milk
    White I don't know
moulds are at the same price

So Archana please give me a tought for prising of different items as
per new rates. I liked your items honey and caramel ofcourse the rock
too. Will try the honey one today and get back with results.

Till then double boil, pour, freeze and taste (I love this phase :)).

    Bye
    ~Narmada

Before embarking on this delicious project it would be prudent to do a basic chocolate-making course and learn the tricks of the trade. It will also give you a preview of the business.Imported chocolate is available in India .Best of luck!

    Thanks Narmada!

    Just a few queries!

    1. What do you think can be the cost of the course? I personally feel around the 500 - 600 range would suit fine, as it is only a demo and no one is really doing chocolates

    2. Did you really find the course useful? Were you able to go back home and do it easily?

    3. Is there anyone in chennai interested to join me?

    Cheers

    Archana

    Hi Archana,

    Here are my answers

    1. What do you think can be the cost of the course? I personally feel around the 500 - 600 range would suit fine, as it is only a demo and no one is really doing chocolates

Even I felt 1000 is high end for it but as I mention in my previous post the class fee was varying from 500 to 1000. Even she might have studied the pulse and have raised the bar as more interested ppl are responding. So initial classes can start at 600 - 700 (chocolates are the tempting factors so mums will definitely tend to learn for their kids. 500 would be little lower). In the class you can give the tips what ever you experienced in past with chocolates. See the response then you too can raise the fee :thumbsup.

    2. Did you really find the course useful? Were you able to go back home and do it easily?

Basically I've zero idea on chocolate making. So I felt it very useful. Even if I find the preparation details over net I don't know where to purchase and what to purchase. I got all the details now. Yep I tried successfully after coming home. My husband and my kid loved them :). Forgot I tried Honey and caramel (This one also I prepared at home first time. I couldn't find caramel in any of the near by shops. So tried at home and it turned out very good. My daughter and myself were keep licking ;-) ). Those 2 are also very good.

    3. Is there anyone in chennai interested to join me?

Not applicable to me :). I wish some one will soon join you.

    Bye

Shall we discuss about the pricing of the chocolates as per the current rates? I've a strong idea to sell where and how to start....@@@@...???? any ideas welcome.

My trainer told she targetted IT firms. I should get those details too from her she told each piece 5Rs. and 250gms is 80 I guess... need to verify once again. One more point she mentioned is rum and vodka flavoured chocs are like hot cakes it seems ;-). For that she uses essence only. But I read in one site for 200gms of choc they were using 2tsp rum. Any comments on it Archana...???

No Idea! I should try with rum sometime too! Never tried earlier. Why dont you contact the place you learnt chocolate making and ask them the method? As you have paid and learnt, they are on a obligation to assist you. I will let you know about the prices in sometime. Kinda held up now.

    Cheers
