Smile Preparing Food for a Party

Hi Friends,

My friend will be soon celebrating her DD's First bday
and she is like inviting some 15 families. So, probably along with kids...it must be around 30-35 people. She told both South Indian and North Indian ppl will be coming. My friend is a South Indian.

The max i have invited is around 8 ppl..so i could not suggest much to her.
Can you please be generous enough to share your ideas for the dishes, return gifts and other party ideas.

Thanks a million in advance..

-Priya-

Some things to think about

1. Veg or Non-Veg?
2. Party time - Tea Time or Dinner Time?

For food, I suggest finger foods that are kid friendly. some popular items from kids parties I have attended include cheese sticks, idlis, pizza (get those bagel bite ones from costco), jalapeno poppers, cut up sandwiches, sprouts chat, pasta, chicken fingers/nuggets, french fries etc.

if catering mainly to adults, then she can have idli/sambhar, pav bhaji, chola-bhatura, puri-veg curry, some paneer dish, chicken curry, some rice variety, raita etc.

also some tips
get rotis from outside, make curries at home
use disposable paper plates, napkins , cups
hit the dollar store for return gifts and decorations
