Well to start with me ,I'm having some guest over for dinner and planning to cook Italian Food, Have decided for the main course but not sure of starter and dessert...So any Suggestions ?????

hi meghanshu,

I think every italian menu should include a pasta dish. Also I found a

recipe index for italian food.

Dear Meghanshu,

For starters:
1. Bruschetta: crostini bread topped with chopped tomatoes , garlic and cheese and baked till crisp.
2. Tomato, Mozarella and basil salad.
3. Fried Mozarella sticks/balls served with marinara dipping sauce.
4. Plain italian Ciabatta bread, served warm with Dipping Olive oil ( this is made by warming the olive oil with herbs like thyme, parsley, garlic, oregano etc) and fresh ground black pepper.

For dessert:
1. Tiramisu( the all time favorite italian dessert). Can make single serve cups if your number of guests are small.
2. Cheesecake: Get the ready made one or can make one yourself . there a whole bunch of no bake cheesecake recipes available.
3. Serve a nice warm fruit pie.
4. Plain Almond biscotti served with some good fresh brewed coffee.

Hope this helps.
