Actually we prepare variety of murukkus and sncaks
during Janmashtami festival, my MIL used to prepared
36 variety of sweets and hot during this festival.
Of course I too prepare very well and we celebrate
this festival on a grand scale than any other festival
once bcoz of lack of time i tried to prepare MANOPPU
MURUKKU and the ingredients are as follows :
Rice flour 1/2 kg
Putnala pappu 1/4 kg (make a medium powder in a mixie)
Til 2 tblspoon
salt and red chillie powder as required
A pinch of Asafoetida
Sieve and mix all the flours, Add all the remaining ingredients Pour the hot oil over this
and mix well. Now add water and knead to a stiff dough
Place oil to heat for frying chaklis.
These murukkus can be stored for 3-4 dys and it
taste is very crunchy.
