ABOUT KINDENESS AND COMPASSION

How little it costs if we give it thought

To make happy some heart each day!

Just one kind word or tender smile.

As we go on our daily way.

Perhaps a look will suffice to clear

The cloud from a neighbor’s face.

And the press of a hand in sympathy,

A sorrowful tear efface

One walks in sunlight, as another goes

All weary in the shade.

One treads a path that is fair and smooth,

Another must pray for aid.

It costs so little, I wonder why

We give it so little thought,

A smile, a kind word, a glance, a touch-

What magic by them is wrought!

Very good as usual.

In today's hi fi world, where we do not have time and feelings to shower on one's own family, I doubt whether we have time to spend with a neighbour.

But all the same, what you have written is true.
