The theme behind this poem is from my mom...and edited by my father..

Earth as a whole is a rented house
in which we live as tenants
at the pleasure of the landlord (GOD)
    and when He (GOD)
    asks us to vacate
    without notice
    we move on to
    another house
    (another life) and
    this goes on for ever
    until we find a house
    which will be our own
    permanently
    (His abode).

    Hi Bhargavi,

a very inspiring poem. This thought has been in my mind that we have been sent here on earth for a temporary period for the soul to improve from experiences. But we somehow get attached here and we forget the purpose for which we had been sent here in the first place.

    Nice poem, keep writing!

Thanks Usha for your words..which shows that we are thinking on the same line....haha...true, what we enjoy here is also for lease....we cannot own them...

    Sunkan,
I liked the word: sub-room....yeah, we don't have any right to meddle with it, thinking it is ours...

    Dear Srini,

Wonderful to read this lovely poem involving the whole family. Inspired by Mom and edited by Dad and produced by daughter. Wow. Lovely meaning to the whole existence of life.

Loved this poem Srini like all the others but loved this a little more because of the Mom and Dad involvement.Guess poems in you are genetically inherited.

    Love,
    Devika

    Dear Sriniketan,

First words that came to my mind upon reading this were "Klein aber oho!" Which is German and when translated, means 'small but oho'--literally!
In a very few lines, you have communicated a great philosophy and truth which all of us forget although we fully well know it is the truth.
The poem gathers even more charm when you say it was a combined effort of an experienced mother, father and daughter!
Congrats on making it to the FP.

    L, Kamla

Thanks for your encouraged words, as always....

Wowwww - that's the first thing that came to my mind as I read this poem.
It's a great analogy that you've (your mom, rather) used to describe about striving to attain nirvana!

    Thanks for sharing it, Sriniketan.
    best,
    hasita
