You Love Ma Or Pa??

YOU LOVE MA OR PA??

I am a teeny weeny called Johnny
Hey should I also say I am chubby
Mommy says be calm I shouldn’t fiddle
Daddy’s talks are always a riddle

Oh dear I have come here to tell you
This world that confuses me too
All the time they tie the tough bell
You like MA or PA cmon tell

I feel so funny Oh dear what do I say
If MA, then PA will never let me play
If PA then MA wouldn’t bake the cake
So I’ve got to hide for my own sake

But tell me isn’t this a funny question
Why do you give kids all this tension
We love MA and PA just like the way
They love me and Ronny always

Shouldn’t grown up have so much sense
You want us to utter some nonsense
And while we get smacked at home for it
You sit and enjoy in your own retreat!!

interesting.Kids are very good at this play.If they need something from mom ,they say "mom i love you".If it has to come from pa they say" papa i love you".
They are also good at playing double games.

My dd is very clever, even in sleep,if someone ask this question she would say, i love both mom and ppa.

Maybe questions like these make children wonder whom to love most,( infact they love both pa and ma)...
Basically we are teaching them to see indifferently...too bad of us....
Otherwise they ask are you 'mama's chellam or papa's chellam'...

Believe me, kids are smarter nowadays and they might ask back whom do you love most...your husband or the kids????

Had this same question from all the sides when i was a kid. I think i am a kid even now n that is why that question is now being rephrased n asked like, 'You are fond of your father or mother?', 'You are attached more to your father or mother?'.. Though my answer to that is straight n simple now, i used to escape saying 'i love both' when i was very young. It is not that i did not love both of them equally then nor i do not love both equally now, but since the question has 'fond of' or 'attached' in them, i can give a meaningful, detailed reply now.

But asking 'You Love Pa or Ma' should be avoided. Though the kid may not have even the slightest idea of seeing mom's n dad's love in two different n separate ways, this particular question may trigger that.

Need both one for warmth & the other for the cool comfort to rest my weary head...

Yes I do agree kids are very smart. But what I do not understand is why the question??.When you ask a child you like Ma or Pa , you are actually trying to tell the kid that one is greater than the other which I think is very wrong. So the poor child is in a dilemma.

Thanks for writing in. Yes Kids are diplomacy personified, but then they are kids !! What appalls me is these grown ups that come with the bizzarre questions of picking up your favourite parent.

Oh yes dear I know they can put you in a tight spot with options no better!!

Yes Meena , the question puts all kinds of confusion in the kids mind. This looks like a superority game. Whos better??
I have heard this so many times as a child and would often wonder what to say. And if you say" Both "they still persisit ,"No tell me one". I used to be so confused. Now I see the same with my child . Though she knows what to answer, courtesy me, I still find this question from grown ups very foolish.

Hi Sweetie,

Thanks for writing in. Aga just imagine when its so difficult for grown ups like us to answer , how very difficult it would be for the kiddos.Makes them wonder what kind of a game it is cause any which way they will bear the brunt. I used to face this and now when my daughter faces it she very sweetly tells both MA and PA, and further probing she tell ask MA, and then I give them a piece of advice. Its bad to make the kids go through this kind of games on favouritism.
