Default 5 'Kural' a day....

As with all the literatures, Praising the Lord is the first chapter in Kural too..

ARATHU PAAL

( Dharmic Principles)

Chapter 1

Agara mudhala yezhuthellam aadhi
bhagavan mudhattrae ulagu.

As 'A' is the beginning letter for all alphabets,
so is God, the beginner of the Universe.

katradhanaal aaya payanyenkol? valarivan
natral thozhaar yenin.

What is the use of learning when you don't worship the feet of Him, who has perfect intelligence?

malarmisai yaeginaan maanadi serndhar
nilamisai needu vaazhvaar.

Those who take refuge in the sacred feet of HIM,( who walked on flowers), will be on this earth very long, in other words, will be remembered forever.

vendudhal vendamai ilaanadi serndharkku
yandum idumbai ila.

Life's perils will not touch the person who clings to the Feet of Him who is beyond preferance and aversion.

irulser iruvinaiyum seraa; iraivan
porulser pugazh purindhaar maattu.

Those who praise the Lord earnestly will be freed from the fruits of action, both good and evil.

1) Five Kurals a day - In Tamil & English
2) Translation of them in English
3) Comments / Feedback about the Kural itself, if any. (Like how it can be applied in day-to-day life, any other better meaning that the Kural can be related to, what is that you like the best about a particular Kural, etc.)

porivaayil aindhavithaan poitheer ozhukka
nerininraar needu vaazhvaar.

Men who follow the righteous path designed by HIM ( who burned away the desires of 5 senses), their days will be many upon the earth.

thanakuvamai illaadhaan thaalserndharkku allaal
manakavalai maatral aridhu.

Those who take refuge in HIM ( who has no equal) will escape from the sorrow of this world.

araaazhi andhanan thaalserndhaarku allaal
piraaazhi neendhal aridhu.

Those alone, who cling to the feet of HIM,( who is the Ocean of Righteousness) can traverse this world of stormy seas and sense delights.

kolil poriyil gunamilavae; engunathaan
thaalai vanagaath thalai.

Just like the senses without sensation, worthless will be the head that does not bow before the Feet of HIM ( who is endowed with eight attributes).

piravi perungkadal neendhuvar; neendhaar
iravan adi seraadhaar.

Those who take refuge in HIM will cross this ocean of birth and death, others do not.
