Dear Kamla,

Thanks for stepping in here.
Isnt parting the most sorrowful episode? Whether it is kids or some loved one with whom you've spent your life.
We weave our dreams around them even though we known that these dreams will decieve!!

Yes I saw it in the FP . Thanks so much for the appreciation Kamla.

Love,
Devika

Very touching. This poem has a great appeal as it speaks to every one of us, parent or child.
My favorite poem on this theme is from Khalil Gibran. When I first read it, I was moved to tears and treasured the words.
Now you bring this to us and it finds its place in the Finest Post immediately. I can very well understand why!

What a beauty!!

I am amazed at your poetic skills. Superb!

About the topic, I think objectivity comes handy to me 99% times.. Its only 1% time that I give in to nostalgia. I always explain to my mom,

All seeds cannt grow under the tree
they have to scatter around to make the garden full and glee

Strongest and finest ones need to go farthest
So that message is widespread and aloud

No tree can ever eat its own fruits
Life is such , you take from some and give it to others

I better stop than further extend it..

Dear Devika,

You have written so well, Devika, the pains of the children leaving the nest.Your children too must be married and gone, and so who can know this fact more than you, who has gone thru all this.

Well written, with feelings , u are a born poet.Regards.kamal

A silly poem on this subject

As the saying goes,
As u sow so shall u reap,
Why yr kids go away,
That is when you Weep.

One day they have to grow up and go,
And leave his parents,in the house where he once used to stay,
Child and parents still love each other,
But all they can do now is for each other’s wellbeing pray.

Bye granny Devika.Regards.kamal

dear devika madam

i enjoyed reading u'r poem...in the sense i felt it.

i am in my 20's .i hv 3 yr old daughter.so lousng way to go for me.yes i miss my parents.
but my husband is so wonderful that he always reminds me of "you too shall pass away"
talks abt imperminence.its takes lot of practice to finally make ur self ready for that..i know
but trying ....
i think u made us think and prepare our selves for that stage of life.

thanks for reading my post and sorry if any bad writing am not good at it.

love
lakshmi.
