Default Triolets

Recently in a friend’s blog there was a challenge to write triolets. Triolets are traditional 8 lined poems.
A triolet is a poetic form that is eight lines long. Its rhyme scheme is ABaAabAB and all lines are in iambictetrameter; the first, fourth and seventh lines are identical, as are the second and final lines, thereby making the initial and final couplets identical as well.

You have to write a triolet (1) A
If you would make your name immortal.(2)B
To get a form that's fit and set. a
You have to write a triolet. (4)A
From free verse all you ever get a
Is just another yawn or chortle. b
You have to write a triolet (7) A
If you would make your name immortal. (B

Another example:

The River Beckons Me; Draw NearThe river beckons me; draw near, ever wishing to kiss my face.Off'ring to wipe away my tears, the river beckons me; draw near.Seductive voice to calm my fears;to disappear without a trace. The river beckons me; draw near, ever wishing to kiss my face.

Now Mine: I wrote two triolets.

1)
What happened to all the men?
Is chivalry really dead?
It is hardly half past ten
What happened to all the men?
Never thought we’d see it when
Away from us, they’ll head
What happened to all the men?
Is chivalry really dead?

2)

Today just isn’t my day
Got up the wrong side o’ bed
Though sun shines, can’t make hay
Today just isn’t my day;
Heaven or Hell, come what may
I’ll just go back to bed
Today just isn’t my day
Got up the wrong side o’ bed.

Now I welcome all ILites to try your hands at writing Triolets in my comment section. The form has to be as given on top. The rhyme scheme and lines must conform to the pattern.

Good Luck!
