but my grand mom used to say usually esp in olden days you find ladies doing everyday puja and litting diya and kartheeka masam is epected to be the most auspisious month which is imp for both shiva and vishnu gods so they suggest us to do atleast 1 day on purnima of kartheekamasam and lit 365 threads
i follow it religiously dono if an alterenative is there
