Hi angel

As long as you're using fats and oils sparingly in your cooking and preparation, it would be fine to use any one of the following "good" oils. All of the following oils are low in saturated fats and trans fats. Some have high concentration of monounsaturated fats such as olive oil. Choose corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, soy oil or canola oil if you wish to fry foods as these oils have higher smoke point. It is best not to fry with olive oil as its smoke point is only about 190C/375F.
  • Good Cooking Oils:
    • canola oil
    • flax seed oil
    • peanut oil
    • olive oil
    • non-hydrogenated soft margarine
    • safflower oil
    • sunflower oil
    • corn oil
The following "bad" oils contain high percentage of trans fat or saturated fats. Some, such as coconut oil, even contain more saturated fats than animal products!SOURCE:WEB

Hi,

thanks for sharing.....

i alternate canola oil (with omega 3&6) and sunflower oil for regular cooking and also use extra virgin olive oil for few dishes.

yes we should not use olive oil for frying. keeping oil consumption to the minimum is good for health. i totally avoid deep fried food.

Our food habits are based on the area we live in..................
It varies from state to state and country to country.
We cannot say that this is good or this is bad.
If Coconut oil was bad, then Kerala would have had the highest death rate
Tomorrow some American institute will come out with a research result that it is very good for heart the people wlll jump at it.
Any oil if too much,is bad.
How can one say that butter or ghee is bad?!!!
Keralites use coconut oil.Tamilians -gingelly oil,Andhraites-groundnut oil,Bengalis-mustard oil etc etc.
It differs from state to state.........................

This misconception is very ironic...........
I use coconut oil for cooking certain dishes even now.I have no cholestrol.Everything is very normal with me.
The usage of different oil varies from region to region.
Anything in excess is bad.
