Oil-less Tamarind Rice

    Dear all,

    Last week, I made tamarind rice and had it with my favourite Onion pakora. Forgot to take a snap of it.... will definitely take in my next preparation and post it in this thread, itself. Sharing with you all Computer Typing ... How I made it ?

    (1) Put tamarind (one small lemon sized ball) in water… or if you have tamarind paste, take one table spoon of it and mix it well in 2-3 tumblers of water.
    (2) Add coriander powder (1 table spoon) to tamarind water – as we like the flavour of coriander powder
    (3) Add chilli powder(depending on your taste) , salt, tumeric powder(1 tea spoon) to the mixture.
    (4) Heat the kadai, pour one spoon of oil, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chilles, curry leaves, kadai paruppa (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on">Bengal</st1:place> gram), peanuts and aesfotida to it . Allow all the items to fry. Let the flame be in the simmer position.
    (5) After the item are fried… then pour the mixture into the kadai.
    (6) Allow it to boil a lot.. until it reduces itself into ¼ of the original mixture.
    (7) This will be a concentrate paste and when added to plain white rice, gives tasty and yummy “Oil less Tamarind rice”.:2thumbsup:

    Started the healthy series coming up...

    Welcoming with great enthusiasm...

    My LO loves tamarind menus....So, this rice comes in the lunch menu once in a week...I use altleast 3 tsp of oil....Would follow your measurement...

    already ur oil free pakora is pending... along with that i'm gonna try this also... any plans to become diet queen...here is the crown:queen:queen...
    i'm very strict with oil these days... so sure these types of menu i love... so keep posting..

    keep trying new diet menus and post it.....
