Dear Lata,

Thanks for the award and your enthusiastic reply. I am very happy after reading your words !
All the credits to my hubby, he used to give valuable suggestions in making my cooking tastier and healthier. So we are preparing our dishes only with a spoon of oil or less than that and now we are started enjoying a healthy diet.

Thanks once again.... !!! With love,

Gowri I am now impressed that you use only 500ml of oil in a month. In my mind you have become Super Woman

Let me first ask you do you use
1. Tadka you know mustard seed etc at end of cooking the meal
2. for cooking veggies do you use oil if so how much and do you measure
3. Do you cook items like okra?

sorry to trouble you with questions..

Dear AC Madam,

Nothing like that Madam....
Questions and comments are always welcome !!!
(1) No fried items at home....like Bajji/Pakora/appalam/vadam. We do all these (frying !! ) in microwave oven only.
(2) We used to boil vegetables, just use one spoon(Somewhat flat, that too!!) to fry mustard seeds, asephotida, urad dal. It will be enough to for them to fry !!!
(3) We do make okra curry... same formula like pakora (except rice flour) and do it oven... moru moru okra curry will be done.
(4) No pickle at home.. (rarely we buy... it will be used for 6-7 months) or prepare pickle without oil... Lemon pickle : cut them, put in a bottle, with some salt and and keep in the fridge !! Rarely, we used to fry mustard seeds and green chillies and add it to it. It is good for health too.

With love.

Dear AC Madam,

(1) Very less water can be used to boil vegetables, i used a closed container for that.
(2) Yeah... you are absolutely right. The same procedure and then i used to fry mustard, urad dal, hing in a kadai, add the cooked okra and keep the flame to the sim position. You will get moru moru okra curry..

With love,

Gowri madam..you are very much health conscious.hats off.Interesting method of cooking.

I do not boil vegetables..but steam it.it can be done in normal indian type idli cooker. It is more nutritional than boiling.I have special plate that can be fixed on idli cooker.I steam every day vegetables.

Dear Supriya,

Influenced by my hubby's motivation and advice... enjoying a healthy diet !!

You are very right... these days, we are having microwave oven for boiling/steaming, so,we are using it. Nothing strict about it.

Thanks for stepping in...
