Foods to boost your mood

    If you are feeling low you have 2 options.
    one is sugary thing maybe a chocolate or fruits,or a bowl of oats.
    Taking chocolate gives temporary rush but having a fruit or a cup of oats would ensures energy,
    Some of the foods which guarantee energy are
    Water-Start the day with 500 ml of water.
    Wheat bran flakes -Replace cereal with bran flakes which is full of essential nutrients.
    Bananas-Rich in potassium.
    Almonds-when eaten raw,it is agood source of healthy fat and protein.Ideal snack for in between meal hours..Do not peel.
    Lentils-especially chickpeas or kidney bean.
    Whole grains-oats,wheat even brown rice.
    Spice curries-like turmeric,cumin and cinnamon.

    Hey thanks for starting this thread.

    The foods that help pick up our mood are :

    :banana Bananas ( as they have potassium, magnesium and also contain tryptophan)

    Berries like blueberries , strawberries etc. as they are said to reduce secretion of stress hormone cortisol.

    Flaxseeds, walnuts ( as they have omega3)

    Also foods that have vit.D such as milk etc. and getting morning sun.

    b 12 containing foods: milk ,nutritional yeast, cottage cheese, yogurt and fortified foods that are fortified with b12 like complan and some cereals.

    Dark chocolate as it is believed to increases the level of dopamine in brain.

    other food include asparagus, cashews, mushrooms, oranges, wholegrains ( brown rice) and lean proteins ( beans ) .

    last but not the least

    exercise such as brisk walk.

    I eat all these foods and look at me --> laugh1smiley.:)

    As far as i think it totally depend on your choice and vary from person to person.. For me chocolates and icecreams are mode boaster
