What is your favorite fast food?

Hello IL'ites,

Fast food eateries are cropping up all over the world and we have embraced them quite well.

Sure, we will have our preferences when choosing them.

If we are vegetarians, our options become limited in some places, but we do manage to squeeze it in since we are left without much choice there.

If it is south Indian fast food, then we have choices like idli, vada, dosa, cutlet etc.

North Indian items again come with a lot of variety like chats, bhel puri, pani puri etc.

Mexican fast food items like tacos, tortillas, rice bowls, wraps and burritos etc.

McDonalds and Burger kind are preferred by many , especially family with children.

Subway, is chosen for a healthier alternative since we can customize our order.

Sure enough, Pizza eateries have gained momentum and are here to stay.

Especially, people in India have a variety of options in veggie pizzas. And they can also choose spicy/medium/mild. Here in US, the options for vegetarians are limited but still the demand is there.

You can also list any other items that I've left out in the list.

Further, there are surely people who never go in for fast foods...

So, to which category do you belong? You can choose more than one !

I, for one, love to cook and also eat well.Since nowadays I tend spend a lot of time with my children, in their homes,Ihappen to come across fast food now and then.I really enjoy such a change, though I don't splurge!!

Sambar vadai, variety dosas from Saravanabhavan,
veggie pizza varieties..yes, we have the luxury of ordering them with preferences,mine with spicy,more vegetables and less of cheese.while in chennai,

subway sandwich-veggie,again with less fat,
pizzas made at home,
tacos again made at home and
burger
while abroad,

these are my favourites.At times I indulge in the north Indian varieties ,when the opportunity arises.
Oh! looks like I have never left out anything, you have mentioned.Little would you have expected a response from me, a gran.,isn't it?Big Laugh

I do belong to this Fast food craze catogery, Infact my whole family loves eating fast(Fat) Food. I love eating All southindian Fast food items like Dosai,vada,bhaji,Bonda,murukku,cutlet,Pakoda and what not.....

Meanwhile i am from Mumbai... so without saing i am a die hard fan of all those Yummy Panipuris,Bhelpuris,Kachori,VadaPav,Samosas and All Farsans too.

But I am not into Pizzas, burgers,French fries and Mexcian Foods. And above all i am vege too. So i fall short on my Choice list too. But Oflate i have become little health Consicious and just restrict myself by not indulging in too many Fast foods. But then After comming to US the availabilty of my kind of foods have also reduced, so i guess its a blessing in disguise i supposeBig Laugh.

Meanwhile what abt... Candies, Icecreams and Frozen Yoghurts.... do they fall under this Catogery. then u can add me in that toooooo....

Dear Krithi,

Feeling the delicious smell of all the fast foods as I'm typing, now. I like to try new foods and fast foods, but always in less quantity.

South Indian- adai, paniyaram, dosai, the deep fried snacks especially seedai & mullu mukku..

North Indian- everything with less masala and sweet..

Pizza once in a while...

I love cookies, the Indian ones, so called ghee biscuits. With regard to this my taste ranges from Britannia milk bikies to salt crackers to cakes and what not..

It was very difficult, Krithi, to list some favourties. Because, I like everything, now. I was once a very big challenge to my Mom. She has volumes to say about her struggle.

Oh!! i love both South Indian and North Indian fast foods, but we never get anything of that taste we get back in India. The fast food that we get on bandi i.e. stands out is uncomparable to a restuarant they are yummy. Miss the masala puri, Bhel, pani puri.............
Miss the dosa, idli that we get on the street. Miss the food street in Bangalore.

well i am very fond of cooking and try new recipes quite often. Being a pure vegetarian (not even egg in any form) i love all vegetarian dishes of south indian, north indian as well as continental especially pizza and berger but occassionally. I bake cakes and pizza base at home.

But once summer comes my interest for cooking declines as i find it very difficult to spend longer time in the kitchen. The sweat which bathes us literally irritates. so i limit myself during summer. but during cool days - only this way i can say as we chennaites do not experience winter- i try out a lot..

so my choice is pure veg of south, north and pizzas

Hmmmmmm....i prefer north indian all the time. Pav bhaji,panipuri,sevpuri,bhel anything chatpata is my fave fast food :) that makes my mouth watery!!!

Hmmmmm I am drooling as I type!! what a yummy topic!!
I love Chettinad items. I always make it a point to visit Sangeetha's in Chennai as soon as I land!!
I love the mini tiffen in saravana bhavan too but it is so crowded nowadays.
As I have spent a lot of time in the north, I like items like Lucknowvi chat, ragda pattice, Bhelpuri etc but nothing seems as tasty to me as the simple idly with coconut chutney!!
I hate burgers and pizza is ok about once in a year.

Hi Kaluputti,

I am not at all surprised that you replied to this thread. Age is no bar for choosing our favorite food...even if it is fast food. So what if you are a gran..sure your children and grand kids will be proud and happy that you like to indulge in a variey of foods.

In fact, it is really great that you are able to adapt wherever you are and like fast food ! Good for you !
